In October of 2021, Marshall Alumnus and former CEO of Intuit was named the 38th president of Marshall University. President Smith assumed the position in January of 2022.

Farrell will be named Chairman of the MU Board of Governors for the third year in a row in an upcoming official announcement on Thursday June 16, 2022.
